Abstract
Pesta Kaul Mukah 2015 telah diadakan di Mukah pada 18 April 2015 sehingga 26 April 2015 bertempat di Tapak Pesta Kaul, Kuala Lama, Mukah. Tema Kaul pada tahun ini ialah ‘Berbudaya Terus Maju’. Pesta Kaul Mukah 2015 turut disambut dengan meriah di sekitar Bandar Mukah. Pesta Kaul merupakan satu pesta keramaian masyarakat Melanau yang menghimpunkan pelbagai acara dan adat resam yang unik. Pesta Kaul diadakan sekali setiap tahun, iaitu pada minggu ketiga April. Pesta Kaul diadakan oleh kaum Melanau di kawasan Mukah, sebuah kawasan yang terletak di persisiran pantai di Sarawak. Pada masa lalu, Kaul adalah sejenis pesta keagamaan yang diraikan oleh masyarakat Melanau Pagan. Ia adalah upacara pemujaan untuk mereka memohon restu daripada penunggu di laut, darat dan hutan agar mendapat ketenteraman serta keselamatan ketika melakukan aktiviti seharian mereka mencari rezeki di tempat-tempat tersebut. Pesta ini biasanya diadakan mengikut kalendar kaum Melanau Pagan yang menandakan berakhirnya musim tengkujuh yang telah mendatangkan kesan dalam kehidupan mereka sebagai petani dan nelayan. Kini, Pesta Kaul menjadi salah satu pesta yang bukan sahaja dapat menghimpunkan masyarakat Melanau secara khususnya, malah telah menghimpunkan pelbagai lapisan masyarakat yang ingin turut berkongsi kemeriahan Pesta Kaul.
