Abstract
En janvier 2020, 372 865 personnes étaient prestataires des programmes d’assistance sociale au Québec, pour un total de 5,4 % de la population âgée de 4 à 64 ans (MTESS, 2020). Or, les études confirment, les unes après les autres, la persistance d’une aversion à l’égard des personnes pour qui se nourrir, se vêtir et se loger constituent de pénibles et quotidiens défis. Un stigmate social important accompagne et alimente toujours l’état de pauvreté. Ce colloque sera l’occasion de dresser un bilan et de discuter de certaines problématiques liées à l’aide sociale au Québec.
