Abstract
Cette étude présente le processus d'islamisation diaprée'du peuple Tagbana, doublée de son attachement aux cultes du terroir. À cet égard, il est à retenir que l'islamisation du pays Tagbana présente deux facettes, l'une pacifique et l'autre oppressive. L'ensemble de ses facettes a laissé nombre de foyers islamiques dans le pays Tagbana. Ainsi, la teneur de la foi au sein de ses foyers islamiques varie selon la situation géographique et les différents sous-groupes qui composent le peuple Tagbana. Toutefois, il y a lieu de retenir que cette population regorge malgré son islamisation, d'une panoplie de cultes du terroir. L'ensemble de ses faits montre qu'en apparence la société Tagbana comporte des musulmans et des adeptes du culte traditionnel. Mais au fond tous ont recours aux cultes traditionnels.
