Abstract
1.1 Downtown revitalization is a process of improving the economic, management, physical and social well-being of a community's traditional town centre by: strengthening local businesses, and encouraging investment by building and property owners; creating enjoyable public streets and spaces animated by a variety of creative and civic activities; and providing work and living opportunities for residents (Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs). 2. PURPOSE 2.1 The Shop Brock Downtown Revitalization project is the expansion of the Beaverton 180 ° Downtown Revitalization project into a Township wide downtown revitalization initiative to include the downtowns of Beaverton, Cannington, and Sunderland. 2.2 The Shop Brock Downtown Revitalization Management Committee will oversee and implement the work plan of the Shop Brock Downtown Revitalization project, work in partnership with the project’s Business Development Coordinator, and liaise with businesses and community organizations that have a vested interest in downtown revitalization.
