Abstract

This course seeks to widen the students ’ global perspective on business and provide an opportunity to gain international experience in an emerging market. We will visit companies in an emerging market and focus on its strategic management including the cultural, legal, and economic contrasts with the United States. Student teams develop a report and make presentations on their findings for the companies visited. CLASS FORMAT The course will involve weekly class meetings, company research, invited presentations by international executives, a field trip to an emerging market during the fall-winter quarter break, written reports/cases, and follow-up presentations/report of the findings in the winter quarter. Class Meetings: The purpose of the in class meetings is to expand students ’ strategic and international business expertise, and guide them through the collection of company data in preparation for company visits in Mexico. Students will participate in: 1. Your team 2. Four in-class presentations 3. A company report
