Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Standard l-h readings of water level are shown to be unsuitable for determining the periods of seiches of Lake Ontario due to contamination by high-frequency noise (aliasing). During an extensive study of the physical limnology of Lake Ontario, readings of water level at 17 tidal gauges and at 5-min intervals were used to form smoothed 30-min estimates of water level. Spectral analyses of these data revealed that numerically calculated periods by the finite element method were within several percent of observed periods and that computed distriblltions of amulitutle and Dhuse of the four lowest gravitational modes generally agreed- with field data. Computation of the free periods of os-cillation of large lakes has attracted much interest in recent years. For instance, the ftlll two-dimensional equations of mo-tion, taking into account variable depth and the earth’s rotation, were solved by Hamblin (1972) and by Rao and Schwab (1976) for the lowest six gravitational

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
