On the Simulation of Compressible Jet Flow

Abstract
This paper is aimed at the analytical and numerical simulation of transonic ows in jets. The ow is modelled using both the quasi1D and axi-symmetric 3D compressible Euler equations. Analytical results obtained for simple and Laval jets in the stationary quasi-1D case are generalized to jets of complex geometries. It turns out that for multiple jets, more dierent solutions to a given set of Dirichlet boundary data can exist. We develop an algorithm for the construction of all these analytical solutions. Examples of non-unique solutions are presented.
