Abstract
This booklet is aimed primarily at parents of Grade 8 students in the province of Ontario and is intended to help parents plan their child's secondary education. In particular, the booklet attempts to clearly describe the choices open to students as they move from Grade 8 to secondary school and to relate, in a general way, secondary school courses to opportunities at the postsecondary level. Separate short sections offer a basic description of sec.:;ondary education in Ontario, discuss possible alternatives and variations from the typical secondary school program, examine opportunities for postsecondary education in Ontario, describe various ways of financing a postsecondary education, and discuss the process of planning a school program appropriate for each student.
