Abstract
ii Acknowledgments If you had asked me seven years ago, where would I be, I would have probably answered in my home town of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada teaching high school science and probably living at home with my parents. Well, things never turn out how you expect them to I guess. I would like to thank the Schools of Dental Medicine and of Medicine at the University of Connecticut for developing a demanding curriculum and challenging me to learn every day.
