The Internet is the fastest growing communication medium in history, surpassing historical growth rates in both radio and television. Estimates from the 1997 Nielsen Commerce-Net Survey are that in excess of 50 million people over the age of sixteen in the U.S. and Canada have access to the Internet and over 40 million use the Worldwide Web (WWW)
