Abstract

The dinosaurs of the East Coast of North America are rich in terms of their historical signifi cance, but they have also been the source of considerable research over the past quarter century. Known from the Late Triassic, Early Jurassic, Early Cretaceous, and Late Cretaceous from South Carolina to Massachusetts in the United States, and from Nova Scotia, Canada, this fossil record consists of both skeletal remains and tracks. The theropods, prosauro-pods, sauropods, primitive ornithischians ankylosaurs, ornithopods, and ceratopsians from the eastern seaboard are reviewed and their importance for paleobiological, phylogenetic, and biogeographic interpretations are discussed.
