Abstract
The Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores) has a special patient population with mental illnesses that require special conditions when conducting research involving these vulnerable patients. The Ontario Shores Research Ethics Board (REB) is part of Ontario Shores ’ vision to “lead the international mental health care community in safety. ” The REB has the role to ensure the protection of human research participants through the highest quality scientific and ethical review and ongoing oversight of research.
