The Low Solids Fluxer (LSF), reported to be a significant advance in flux technology, is available to electronic manufacturing companies other than AT&T. This technology could aid the entire electronic industry in their effort to phase out worldwide chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) production by the year 2000, as part of an intemational agreement (the Montreal Protocol). The Columbus plant was the first AT&T facility to completely convert to the new system (August 1988).
