Abstract
Le site du Fer-à-Cheval, en Haute-Savoie (France), est célèbre pour ses nombreuses cascades, surtout spectaculaires au printemps, à la fonte des neiges. Si une partie de cette eau provient bien du versant français de la chaîne, des recherches en hydrogéologie par des traçages à l'aide de puissants colorants, ont montré que la majeure partie de l'eau provient du versant suisse, de la région d'Emosson, en Valais. Les eaux ont suivi des conduits souterrains au sein des calcaires fissurés.
