Abstract
The duties of certain academic staff members in the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences (the "Faculty") include the development and propagation of plant varieties and seed; Certain rights arising from development of plant varieties and seeds are set out in the Plant Breeders ' Rights Act (Canada), or such other substitute or amended legislation as may be enacted from time to time (the "Act"); The University is the owner of all plant varieties developed at the University; and A plant variety that is owned by the University may be licensed by the University in exchange for the payment of royalties
