Abstract
Adopting the integrative approach to IT outsourcing governance based on Transaction Cost and Relational Exchange perspectives, we propose a novel IT outsourcing management model that has potential to explain how formal and informal governance may complement each other by playing different roles within interorganizational exchange channels. We test and further develop our conceptual model by applying it to two IT outsourcing deals in Canadian insurance sector.
