Abstract
Sarcoid of bone (also known as Jungling’s disease and Boeck’s sarcoid) is seen irmost frequently in young adults, particularly in males. Time onset is usually insidious. Time bones of time hands and feet are most commonly affected, but cases imave been reported which involved time long bones. There may be no external evidence of time disease, but usually there is irregular enlargement of time fingers or toes. Subcutaneous nodules may appear about time interphalangeal joints, and in advanced cases timere nmay be gradual disappearance of time terminal phalanges. Pain may be present in time early stages, but it is never severe. Time roentgenographic changes are so cimaracteristic timat timey nmay be easily identified by anyone who is familiar with the disease. Jflngling described three main roentgenographic pictures, altimough internmediate and mixed fornms are common. Type 1 is a diffuse mottling or speckling of time affected bone, sonmetimes simowing slight expansion of time cortex. Type 2 is cimaracterized by a puncimed-out appearance, which gives time impression of translucent cysts in time substance of time bone. These cysts tend to fuse and to form larger cysts, but timey seldoimm involve time periosteum or time joints. Time puncimed-out areas, however, are not cystic in the true sense of time word,
