Abstract
Craig Munro was bom in Brisbane and began work as a journalist before becoming a publishing editor. He completed a PhD at the University of Queensland in 1983 and has published reviews and essays in a variety of books, newspapers and literary journals. He has ed-ited a short story anthology and a new edition of P.R. Stephensen's The Foundations of Culture in Australia. The first edition of his Stephensen biography. Wild Man of Letters, won the Fellowship of Australian Writers Prize for Biography and the Walter McCrae Russell Prize for Literary Scholarship. It was also shortlisted for the National Book Council Awards, the Age Book of the Year and the NSW Premier's Awards. A publishing editor for more than twenty years, Craig Mimro was the University of Queensland Press's first fiction editor, and in 1985 received the Barbara Ramsden Award for Editing. In 1991 he was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to study publishing in Canada and the United States. The founding chair of the Queensland Writers ' Centre, he is currently publish-ing manager at UQP.
