Abstract
Dave Bleakney is a musician, educator and political activist. He has been active in international solidarity and is a recipient of the Cuban "Commemorative Medal of Che Guevara " for efforts to break the blockade between Canadian and Cuban trade unions. He is a proponent of direct action and was present at the founding convergence of Peoples Global Action in 1998. Since 1995 he has been an elected representative for the Canadian Union of Postal Workers. He currently lives in Ottawa, Canada, with his partner Catherine and four-year-old daughter, Emma.
