For more information, please contact: The purpose of this publication is to assist precious and other metals exploration companies in preparing their first annual International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) financial statements. Financial Statement Preparation Assumptions: The illustrative financial statements are based on the following assumptions: • All investments were classified as available-for-sale under pre-changeover Canadian GAAP and the available-for-sale classification will be maintained under IFRS. • All property, plant and equipment will be accounted for using the cost model. • The fair value as deemed cost election will not be used for property, plant and equipment.
