Abstract
INTRODUCTION Since 1995, a behavioural research program on pregnancy and mother-calf relationship in bottlenose dolphin has been conducted in the Rimini Delphinarium, Italy. Given that detailed quantitative behavioural aspects of gestation and parturition in dolphins have been rarely described in reproductive reports, the objective of this study was to systematically investigate behavioural patterns and respiratory activity during the last quarter of pregnancy, in order to asses specific trends while approaching
