El texto explora un asunto a menudo omitido: la funcion que desempen la noche en la arquitectura y los estudios urbanos. La discusion, enmarcada en el ambito emergente de los “estudios nocturnos”, destaca el seminario “Montreal by Night”, cuyo eje central fue la tension entre las imagenes oficiales de la ciudad y sus actividades nocturnas. Alli se exploraron temas como la historia de las trabajadoras sexuales, la cobertura mediatica y la transformacion de los barrios asociados a la vida nocturna. El articulo enfatiza que es necesario planificar y establecer formas inclusivas de gobernanza de la vida nocturna y destaca la importancia de preservar artefactos y archivos efimeros. En lineas generales, el texto enfatiza la creciente importancia de los estudios nocturnos en la investigacion academica, las politicas publicas y el activismo.
