Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

\n(The author examines the attitude of the Central Council to the Orthodox Church during the national struggle in 1917-1921. It was determined primarily by the dominance of socialistic convictions in the late XIX century and in the first quarter of the XX century. However, it is not possible to state about the definite attitude of the Central Council to the Church, because the council also included church leaders who defended the Ukrainization of church and gradual separation from Russia. The official position of the Central Council regarding the position to the Church was expressed only at the end of December in 1917 and it was underlined that the religious sphere was a private thing for everyone.)
