Créés en 1984 par la volonté des ministères de l’Éducation nationale et de la Culture, les centres de formation des musiciens intervenants ont diplômé plus de 5000 musiciens dans les domaines de la pédagogie et de la construction de projets d’éducation artistique et culturelle. Ils ont fait du champ de la musique celui dans lequel la formation des artistes à l’intervention à l’école ou dans divers contextes de médiation est la plus organisée. L’article présente les résultats d’une enquête réalisée en 2022 sur les trajectoires des musiciens intervenants en France. Il décrit leur métier sous l’angle de trajectoires sociales, culturelles et de transmission.
