Abstract
La cinquième édition de l’ouvrage d’ Interprétation des lois des professeurs Pierre-André Côté et Mathieu Devinat demeurant une référence incontournable pour l’enseignement et la pratique du droit, il importe de s’y intéresser pour plusieurs raisons. Non seulement ce magnum opus propose-t-il une conceptualisation des directives interprétatives avec l’étude des méthodes, des principes et des règles d’interprétation législative, mais il développe une théorie du droit sous-jacente à cette méthodologie juridique. Dans la présente recension critique, il est question, dans un premier temps, des approches textualiste et intentionnaliste ainsi de la distinction entre le texte législatif et la règle juridique, puis, dans un second temps, de la théorie de la création soumise à des contraintes et des conceptions de la vérité qui la sous-tendent.
