Abstract
La littérature traitant de l’interaction entre la propriété intellectuelle et le droit international privé est relativement récente. Cette dissertation tend à poser un nouvel éclairage grâce à son analyse comparative des législations américaines, britanniques, canadiennes et australiennes sur l’application des lois de propriété intellectuelle ainsi que la protection des droits de propriété intellectuelle au-delà des frontières nationales. Couvrant un large éventail de questions relatives à la propriété intellectuelle et à l’extraterritorialité, cette étude exprime sa singularité en s’attachant à donner un aperçu de l’histoire de l’extraterritorialité et de son évolution, du développement de la propriété intellectuelle et de son caractère territorial plus ou moins étendu, des problématiques qui se situent à l’intersection du droit international privé et du droit de la propriété intellectuelle, et de l’état actuel de l’extraterritorialité en propriété intellectuelle ainsi que de ses trajectoires futures.
