IE TCD MS 9419/2096: Anonymous postcard sent from Ryde, Isle of Wight to Michael Davitt, Dalkey, Dublin, Ireland dated 24th January 1900 regarding the Boer War: "Dear Mike, How is it you are not at Colenso or Pretoria helping the Boers. The present is a good opening for traitors, but perhaps you are going to lead a Brigade from the States into Canada but I think after all you are a coward and at best employed in throwing dirt or sniping at good old John Bull from a [?] corner in Ireland..."
