Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

This publication outlines Harvest Pathways, a conceptual pilot program designed to support the reintegration of recovering individuals experiencing Post-Acute Withdrawal Syndrome (PAWS) by engaging individuals in structured agricultural work, community-based skill-building and community reintegration in the Cowichan Valley and surrounding regions. The document provides an overview of the social policy framework, intended partnerships with local farms, potential government funding avenues, and implementation strategies for integrating addiction recovery with agricultural training. This proposal is shared to establish intellectual authorship and a public record of the concept for future research, collaboration, and policy advocacy purposes. All rights reserved to the author. Harvest Pathways' long-term vision extends beyond Vancouver Island. If successful, this PAWS-focused agricultural reintegration model could be adapted and implemented in other regions of Canada with high addiction recovery needs and available agricultural infrastructure, promoting sustainable recovery, food security, and social inclusion.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
