Cette étude se concentre sur la réception esthétique des courts métrages de fiction québécois, un domaine peu exploré en études cinématographiques, souvent perçu comme moins populaire que d'autres productions audiovisuelles. L'objectif est de déterminer l'influence du contexte historique, culturel, de production et de diffusion sur l'appréciation du public envers cette forme cinématographique. La recherche vise également à mettre en lumière la singularité esthétique du court métrage de fiction québécois et à analyser sa réception et ses effets esthétiques. Une approche sémiostylistique, inspirée des travaux de Georges Molinié, est adoptée pour étudier les films dans leur contexte et leur forme esthétique. La première démarche est historique, examinant le processus de production et de diffusion, ainsi que le rôle des festivals et des plateformes numériques. La seconde démarche se concentre sur l'analyse esthétique formelle et générique des courts métrages sélectionnés dans le cadre de festivals renommés.
