La représentation du travail en rapport avec l’espace domestique occupe une place primordiale dans l’essai Chez soi. Une odyssée de l’espace domestique (2015) de Mona Chollet, un texte hybride superposant des discours philosophiques et sociologiques et des témoignages personnels. À partir des paradigmes du travail d’Anthony Hussenot, chercheur français en sciences de la gestion, et de la notion d’« écriture du travail » de Dominique Viart, cet article propose une mise en évidence de certaines conceptions du travail en Occident aujourd’hui, une analyse thématique et une étude des stratégies discursives de Chez soi . L’hypothèse développée est que, dans l’essai, la figuration de pratiques de travail alternatives au domicile (lire, écrire, faire des recherches sur Internet) s’inscrit dans une démarche de création de nouveaux modes de vie et d’écriture qui remettent en question le productivisme et l’injonction à l’accélération propres aux sociétés néolibérales occidentales contemporaines.
