L’éducation à la citoyenneté est-elle une éducation à la <i>caring</i> citoyenneté ? Analyse du Plan d’études romand

Abstract
Selon le Plan d’études romand, l’éducation à la citoyenneté a pour objectif de « préparer les élèves à participer activement à la vie démocratique en exerçant leurs droits et responsabilités dans la société » (CIIP 2010, 21). Cet article analyse ce plan d’études à l’aide de la théorie politique du care de Joan Tronto, qui prône une démocratie inclusive, engagée et soucieuse (Tronto, 2009, 2013). La question traitée est la suivante : l’éducation à la citoyenneté, telle qu’elle est conceptualisée au sein du vaste panorama du Plan d’études romand, peut-elle être comprise comme une éducation à la caring citoyenneté? Il ressort qu’il y a des convergences entre une politique du care et les conceptions i) de la pratique citoyenne, ii) de la responsabilité et iii) de l’altérité, telles que ces notions sont mobilisées dans ce plan d’études.
