La citoyenneté envisageable par les enseignants des SVT face à une QSSV : le cholestérol

Abstract
Ce travail interroge la portée citoyenne de l’enseignement des sciences de la vie et de la Terre (SVT), à travers l'exemple du cholestérol, considéré comme une question scientifique socialement vive (QSSV). En nous inscrivant dans le champ des QSV (Barrué, 2014), nous explorons le potentiel de cet enseignement à favoriser une citoyenneté émancipatrice, en confrontant les élèves à l'incertitude et aux controverses contemporaines (Morin, 1999 ; Maurer, 2008). Un questionnaire a été proposé à 52 enseignants des SVT afin d’analyser leurs conceptions de la citoyenneté à travers le traitement du cholestérol en classe. Les résultats indiquent une dominante normative de la citoyenneté, au détriment de la dimension critique et participative.
