Quebec Safety Code, Chapter VIII: Building, and National Fire Code of Canada 2020 (amended)
Bibliographic record
Abstract
This document, published by the National Research Council of Canada for the Régie du bâtiment du Québec, contains both the new edition of Chapter VIII, Building, of the Quebec Safety Code, and an amended version of the National Fire Code of Canada 2020 (NFC) that clearly indicates the changes adopted by Quebec. This document is intended for owners, managers and operators of buildings, equipment and facilities. This document includes Quebec-specific provisions to improve fire safety in sleeping rooms and care occupancies, as well as provisions regarding the inspection and maintenance of building façades, multi-storey garages and water-cooling towers. The amended NFC, which incorporates the changes published in the NFC 2015 and NFC 2020, includes some requirements for Quebec’s specific context. In particular, this document specifies the requirements for the periodic inspection and maintenance of various fire protection systems. Key changes in the new edition include the following modifications: • The testing of interconnections between fire protection and life safety systems (CAN/ULC-S1001) • The testing of fire protection systems, whether required or voluntarily installed • A new alternative for home-type care occupancies in small buildings (B-4) • The protection against open flames and sparks during hot works • New requirements for signs indicating the presence of dangerous goods in laboratories • The classification of five commonly used water-miscible liquid mixtures • The compliance of fire safety plans and their implementation with the Quebec Safety Code • A new Section 2.14. for farm buildings

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
