Abstract
Dans le cadre du présent chapitre, nous commençons par approfondir les aspects sociaux et politiques constitutifs du numérique qui justifient son association au concept de citoyenneté en mobilisant les travaux en sciences, technologies et société. Sur le constat que le numérique est éminemment politique, nous abordons ensuite la question de sa gouvernance par le biais des travaux sur la démocratie technique. Nous appliquons cette dernière à l’éducation en illustrant deux dispositifs complémentaires de démocratisation technique en éducation qui sont autant d’occasions pour les membres du réseau scolaire de s’éduquer à la citoyenneté numérique. Finalement, nous contextualisons l’éducation à la citoyenneté numérique dans la gouvernance scolaire actuelle, celle de la nouvelle gestion publique, et soulignons les risques d’instrumentalisation de l’éducation à la citoyenneté qui peuvent en découler.
