Le bilan des investissements internationaux (BII) net du Canada fournit un cadre statistique pour évaluer le degré d’intégration financière entre le Canada et les autres pays. La valeur du bilan des investissements internationaux net du Canada dépend du poids relatif de deux facteurs compensatoires : (1) les créances que les investisseurs canadiens détiennent sur des actifs financiers situés à l’extérieur du Canada, par le biais de leurs avoirs cumulés en investissements directs, en investissements de portefeuille, en réserves officielles internationales et dans d’autres investissements financiers; et (2) le passif du Canada envers les investisseurs étrangers par l’intermédiaire de leurs investissements cumulatifs dans des actifs financiers au Canada.
