Abstract
La distance séparant le lieu de résidence des enfants adultes de celui de leurs parents vieillissants peut influer sur le soutien familial, la prestation de soins et les choix en matière d’emploi. Mais la plupart des données sont axées sur les personnes qui vivent dans le même foyer, comme avec leurs parents, et les suivent rarement sur de longues périodes, ce qui omet des moments clés lorsqu’elles quittent le foyer ou y retournent pour aider un parent vieillissant ou recevoir de l’aide de celui-ci. Un nouvel article intitulé « Geographic proximity between adult children and their parents in Canada : The role of childhood parental income » (en anglais seulement), traite de ces questions.
