Abstract
Sofia Svechina i Sofia Rostopchina były XIX-wiecznymi rosyjskimi arystokratkami, które nawróciły się na katolicyzm. Svechina po nawróceniu w 1816 roku wyjechała do Paryża. Prowadziła tam salon, do którego uczęszczali wybitni myśliciele literaccy i religijni. Sofia Rostopchina po przeprowadzce do Paryża w 1817 roku poślubiła Eugène de Ségur. Dopiero w wieku 57 lat zwróciła się ku fikcji i stała się sławną autorką powieści i bajek dla dzieci. Ten artykuł pokazuje, jak wybory religijne Swiechiny i Rostopchiny wpłynęły na ich życie.
