Abstract
Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie wiedzy naukowej dotyczącej obecności kobiet w świeckich kapelach wokalno-instrumentalnych, działających na terenach polskich przy różnego typu kościołach rzymskokatolickich ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem drugiej połowy XVIII i pierwszej połowy XIX wieku. Po wprowadzeniu, w którym autorka nakreśla specyfikę fenomenu kapel kościelnych oraz analizuje podstawowe regulacje prawne dotyczące udziału kobiet w śpiewie okołoliturgicznym na przestrzeni wieków, analizowane są poszczególne zespoły, w których odnaleziono ślady obecności kobiet muzyków. Kapele zostają podzielone na te, w których sporadyczną obecność kobiet odnotowano już w XVIII wieku oraz zespoły wprowadzające kobiety do grona muzyków w XIX wieku, ale w sposób stały. Omówione zostają też specyficzne przypadki innego schematu obecności i roli kapelistek w zespołach. Szczegółową analizę wieńczy podsumowanie, w którym określa się przyczyny obecności kobiet w kapelach, najczęstszy model kobiety kapelistki oraz przedstawia się perspektywy dalszych badań nad tematem.
