Abstract
FUNDAMENTACIÓN Y OBJETIVOSLa interpretación constituye una práctica ubicua.Los intercambios mediados por intérpretes, ya sea profesionales o ad hoc, se suceden todo el tiempo en las más diversas circunstancias: lugares de frontera, zonas de guerra, hospitales, escuelas, empresas, centros turísticos y tribunales, entre otros tantos.Este empleo tan generalizado de la interpretación como vehículo de la comunicación interlingüe impone la necesidad de capacitación en competencias específicas que permitan practicarla dentro de parámetros profesionales que garanticen su ejercicio idóneo.En el marco de la carrera de Traductorado Público en Inglés es pertinente proporcionar a los alumnos un espacio curricular que los inicie en la capacitación para el ejercicio de la interpretación, dado que, tanto en el ámbito de la actuación pericial como en la esfera privada y académica, la mediación intercultural oral constituye uno de los posibles campos de desempeño profesional para los alumnos.Por este motivo, la asignatura Interpretación en Inglés tiene por objetivo brindar a los alumnos los conocimientos básicos de la profesión.Para ello, sus contenidos se articulan en torno a tres pilares fundamentales: la formación de calidad con miras a una práctica profesional competente, la formación académica con énfasis en la investigación y el desempeño profesional dentro de parámetros deontológicos que aseguren la conducta ética de nuestros futuros profesionales.
