Malgré les objectifs climatiques ambitieux du Canada et la transition mondiale vers des modèles de développement économique plus durables, les données empiriques sur l’incidence de la transition écologique sur la croissance de la productivité du Canada sont limitées en raison d’un manque de données exhaustives. Cette étude comble cette lacune en deux étapes. Premièrement, elle construit une mesure inédite de l'intensité verte au niveau détaillé de l'industrie en synthétisant des données multidimensionnelles, notamment des informations sur les extrants et les processus verts. Deuxièmement, elle étudie la dynamique de la productivité en décomposant la croissance de la productivité à l'aide de ce nouvel indice vert.
