Den 37-årige japanske økomarxist Kohei Saito besøgte Danmark i starten af september. Det gjorde han med flere centrale udgivelser i baghånden, heriblandt en oversættelse til dansk af hovedværket Marx i den antropocæne tidsalder: Bidrag til idéen om en modvækstskommunisme. Saitos tese går ud på, at Marx’ sene tænkning om kapitalismens ubønhørlige rovdrift på sit eget reproduktionsgrundlag gennem sin permanente drift mod forøget naturudbytning, produktion og vækst tegner konturerne af et postkapitalistisk alternativ: et kommunistisk samfund baseret på fælleseje og en kraftig nedskalering i produktion og vækst (modvækstskommunisme).
