Abstract
May 27, 2021, BBC, CBC, USA Today, New York Times, and many other newspapers and news channels published the news of the bodily remains of 215 Indigenous children who were found at Kamloops residential school in British Columbia, Canada. The world mourned for this loss. Those who knew about residential schools were aware of the fact that they had been shut down in 1996, but why had those bodies remained at the school without the principal’s acknowledgement? The current paper intends to shed light on residential schools, specifically the trauma the Indigenous students underwent by focusing on Basil H. Johnston’s Indian School Days.
