This thesis addresses the ongoing development of phase detector electronics, valuable for optimizing particle accelerator operations. Phase detectors are essential tools used to monitor the synchronization between accelerating elements and particles, providing valuable information on the acceleration process. The presented device was specifically designed for TRIUMF's 520 MeV cyclotron, an accelerator used for numerous experiments ranging from medical isotope production to fundamental nuclear physics research. The phase detector electronics required digital and analog design upgrades for adequate functioning and for meeting device specifications. This thesis outlines the hardware, firmware, and software modifications required prior to commissioning. Successful implementation of these developments will significantly enhance the capabilities of TRIUMF?s particle accelerator, enabling advancements in medical imaging, space radiation testing, and cutting-edge research in nuclear astrophysics and cancer treatment.
