Abstract
Les aigües costaneres de Vilanova i la Geltrú han estat reconegudes com el primer ‘punt d’esperança marina’ ('Hope Spot', en anglès) de la península per part de la fundació Mission Blue, fundada per la biòloga i oceanògrafa Sylvia Earle. En un projecte pioner, el Laboratori d’Aplicacions Bioacústiques (LAB) de la UPC estudiarà i farà el seguiment de rorquals comuns i altres espècies marines en aquest entorn, mitjançant tecnologia innovadora no invasiva. Entrevistem Sylvia Earle, doctora honoris causa per la UPC i fundadora de @Mission_Blue , el professor Michel André, director del LAB , fundador i president de la Fundació @Thesenseofsilence , i la directora de la @upcVilanova Marisa Zaragozá, que han estat reconeguts com a Champions Hope Spot.
