Abstract
Rethinking design practices involves conceiving a design theory that is situated and contextualized. In this way, radical contextualism, as a theoretical and methodological starting point, opens a path to thinking and creating from the local, the relational, and the collaborative. This research-creation emerges from reflections on creation and design in and with Indigenous communities in the Matavén Jungle (Vichada, Colombia), specifically with the Piaroa Indigenous people in the community of San Luis de Zama. There, design is rooted in recomunalized and collective actions inspired by Indigenous thought, which converges with an affective and intentional communication with the territory—allowing for being and doing from cultural contexts that are more relational with the ontologies of life. In other words, an ontological design to pollinate new worlds.
