Den (øko)kapitalistiske realisme holder os fanget i et forestillingsfængsel, hvor finans, teknologi, vækst og våben fremstår som de eneste logiske værktøjer til at adressere de kriser, som selvsamme værktøjer har skabt. Det gælder ikke mindst de planetære kriser.<br/><br/>Økofuturismer forsøger at bryde ud af det fængsel ved at følge det zapatis- tiske slagord ’et nej og mange ja’er’. Som et stykke anti-kapitalistisk realisme tegner bogens breve, utopier, kritiske fagtekster, essays, anmeldelser og interviews fremtider, hvor vi sammen kan trække vejret. For at gøre os i stand til at se, føle og tale om liv, der er blevet ignoreret igennem store dele af historien. For at kultivere vitale og solidariske livsformer, som drager omsorg for mere-end-menneskelige arter og andre mennesker.
