Abstract
Depuis le milieu du XXe siècle, les expositions en bibliothèques patrimoniales se sont développées autour de l’objet du livre. Comment valoriser les fonds anciens en bibliothèques ? Dans un premier temps, le mémoire fait l’état des lieux dans l’établissement des actions de médiations, des processus de conservation des documents patrimoniaux et des réalisations d’expositions spécifiques. Dans un deuxième temps, une analyse est menée autour de trois modèles d’expositions en bibliothèques patrimoniales : l’exposition virtuelle « le monde en sphères » de la BNF, l’exposition coopérative « Représenter le lointain » de la BML, et l’exposition itinérante « Un peuple dans l’ombre et la Nation Métisse » du la Bibliothèque du Canada. Enfin, ce mémoire aboutit au projet d’une exposition sur le thème du Carnaval dans trois bibliothèques patrimoniales normandes : Caen, Rouen et Evreux, afin de valoriser des documents méconnus de ces institutions.
