Abstract
Magistritöö käsitleb Kanada eesti ühiskonna poliitilist võitlust ja suhtumist Nõukogude Eestiga kontaktide pidamisse 1960. aastate alguses. Keskse juhtumina analüüsitakse Rudolf Sirge 1964. aasta külaskäiku Torontosse ja selle mõjusid kogukonna sisekliimale. Töö analüüsib Nõukogude Eestiga suhtlemise küsimuse arengut Kanadas 1950. aastate teisest poolest 1960. aastate keskpaigani ning 1964. a sündmuste järel. Magistritöös uuritakse kommunismivastast võitlust kui peamist välisvõitluse meetodit ja selle mõju Kanada eesti ühiskonna sisekliimale. Samuti analüüsitakse töös Kanada eesti ühiskonnas pingete tekkimist ja eskaleerumist mõjutanud tegureid, käsitledes põlvkondade vahelist konflikti, killustatust ja rivaliteeti, pagulastraumat ning NL-i pagulastevastaseid tegevusi.
