Abstract
Најголем дел од Евреите во Скопје живееле во Еврејското маало кое се наоѓало лево од Камениот мост, во правец на Старата скопска чаршија и наспроти маалото Ибни Пајко и се сметало за постара етничка колонија од дојденците во овие предели. Еврејското маало било формирано уште во средниот век. Во османлискиот период тоа претставувало изолиран простор заграден со ѕидови и порти, најмногу од морален карактер и спречување на Турците да навраќаат во самото маало. Турците го нарекле „Јахуди-хане“. Ова маало не било секогаш на исто место. Маалото го изгубило својот еврејски идентитет по депортирањето на неговите жители во логорот Треблинка во март 1943 година. По земјотресот од 1963 година, маалото било разурнато и на негово место била подигната меѓуградската автобуска станица. Зградата на скопската еврејска општина, како и некогашниот Народен театар се градби кои се урнати по земјотресот во 1963 година. Денес на местото на некогашното Еврејско маало се наоѓа Меморијалниот центар на холокаустот на Евреите од Македонија.
