Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Killings by the police become national moments of trauma. Mainstream media and politicians put all their efforts into appeasement or firefighting. What are the strategies that radical filmmakers can take to ensure that the deaths remain in our collective memory? How can we use film to organise community resistance to state violence? Migrant Media is a collective of migrant, black and refugee film activists established in 1991. We put the struggles of race and class at core of our resistance-based work. This is more than a philosophy of empathy. This is a sustained practical attempt to assist in the dismantling of white supremacy. The strategy of resistance comes from our awareness and direct experience of colonialism, imperialism and capitalism. We follow a rich, historical and currently active international movement of filmmakers in struggle. We recognise the victories of the past as we challenge the oppressors of the present.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
